Springing Forward!
To our wonderful Middle Oak community,
Running a small business is a dream, but as many of you know, it’s also a deeply personal journey. Lately, we've been navigating the natural push and pull that comes with a small team. Between the high energy of Rodeo season and hosting some wonderful private events, we’ve also navigated some important family priorities—from health recoveries to recently helping aging family members transition to the next phase of life. It has led to the occasional "closed" sign in our window lately as we balance our professional growth with our personal lives.
You aren't just customers to us—you’re the reason we do this. Our commitment to family is at the core of this business, which occasionally means choosing to be there for a loved one, even when it means taking a quick day or two away from the tasting room.
The lights are back on this Wednesday, and we can't wait to see you! As we "Spring Forward" into this new season, we are looking at our calendar to make sure we're open when you need us most. We'd love your input: Is Wednesday a "must-have" winery day for you? Drop us a note or let us know your thoughts by Sunday, April 12th. We’ll be chatting with everyone and soaking up the sun this Saturday, April 11th during our Cousins Maine Lobster event! Come grab a lobster roll, enjoy the spring breeze, and help us kick off a fantastic month.
Cheers to new beginnings!

Workshop Spotlight
Gouda Times Were Had By All!
We had a legendary time at our Western-themed charcuterie workshop on March 6th! Mayra from Vino + Graze led us on a savory journey through artisan cheeses and perfectly paired bites that left everyone inspired. It was a true highlight of the season, and we’re already looking forward to our next collaboration with Mayra. Check out the gallery below to see the beautiful spreads we created!

Uncorked Memories
The Buckle Breakdown
The dust has officially settled on the 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and what a ride it was! As proud supporters both personally and professionally, we were honored to represent Middle Oak Wines at the Roundup & Best Bites Competition.
We are still over the moon from our results this year—every single one of the 19 wines we submitted to the 2026 Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition earned at least one medal each. We are especially proud of our top-tier winners who brought home the 4 prestigious Rodeo Buckles:
-
2022 Cabernet Sauvignon – Double Gold | Reserve Class Champion 🏆
-
2020 Merlot – Double Gold | Class Champion 🏆
-
2022 Petit Verdot – Double Gold | Class Champion 🏆
-
2022 Cabernet Franc – Double Gold | Class Champion 🏆
We also had the pleasure of pouring our 2020 Cabernet Franc, which also earned a Double Gold Medal AGAIN—a fantastic achievement that we are incredibly proud of!
Seeing your familiar faces along the trail makes all the hard work worth it. Scroll below for the highlights (and the hats!) While the Rodeo gates have closed for now, our Spring season is just beginning—stay tuned for details on our upcoming bottling. More on that soon!
